Dr. Edwin Land, a physicist, was the inventor of Polaroid Cameras. In 1929 he had invented a synthetic sheet polarizer.  The Polaroid Company was founded in 1937. When World War II ended in 1945, Polaroid cameras took off and sales reached 16 million in 1947.  My mother had one of the early Polaroid cameras that used a roll and took black and white pictures. There is a lot of good information on the Internet.  These two cameras listed are great cameras for the collector.
